Notes from RIC III, p.359 (186 AD): In this year falls the reform of the calendar by Commodus, who renamed some of the months. Hence comes the type of Janus in a shrine and of Jupiter Exsuperator, with the branch of peace: 'Exsuperatoria' was to be the new name for the month November.

Note: The reverse legend appears to be engraved correctly and the obverse legend is not too terribly blundered. The portrait is nice and the reverse is just a little simplified. The flan appears to be good silver, so I am suspecting this may be a Celtic imitation versus an ancient counterfeit. The pellets on the reverse and the obverse containing the circle with center pellet are provocatively Celtic designs.
