Note: There are numerous unusual attributes on this coin which need to be studied at length. First, this piece employs a transitional, beardless portrait, similar to what was being used by Valens. Normally, Procopius is shown with a distinct beard. Also, the bust type is not listed in RIC. Procopius is usually shown with pearl or rosette diadem, facing right or left, from front or back, but always with just cuirass or draped and cuirassed. This portrait type may be looking to link the usurper to his relative, Julian II. Another oddity is the exergual mark - KVA, KVB and SMKG are the only attested marks for Procopius siliquae.
