Note: The expected exergual mark for this series is always preceded by an R for the Rome mint. On this specimen, it appears as though the R has been omitted, based on the overall balanced composition of the reverse legend positions, which would put the missing R on the dotted border. The unfortunate flan absence exactly where the R would appear leaves some speculation as to whether this is an error, an unlisted exergual mark or the normal type.
