RIC Volume VI - Diocletian Reform to Maximinus: Lugdunum Mint

Note: RIC describes two small classes of folles with a Genio reverse type and altar which is plain or with "saltier cross". Although from Aquileia, here is an example of what the altar would look like on the saltier cross varieties

Notes: Freeman & Sear attributed this coin to RIC 290. The only difference between RIC 288 and 290 is Genius wearing a tower or modius. The difference being extremely subtle, but I believe this example to be a modius. Note, however, the altar is unlit on this coin as well, so there may be some artistic license used by the celator on this die, or may be just some ambiguity in assigning an exact RIC number to it.
