Consignor notes: Thrace was one of the earliest destinations for the Diaspora. It was a region roughly occupying modern-day northern Greece, northern Turkey and southern Bulgaria. The largest city was Byzantium, modern-day Istanbul. Thrace was also home to Philippi, one of the earliest Christian churches established by Paul.
