Note from Marvin Tameanko, August 20, 2005: Your coin of Carrhae, Lindgren, 2564, shows a 'simulacrum', that is a conical monument that is the likeness of the goddess, in this case probably a local, Asiatic form of Aphrodite, who is represented by the crescent moon and star at the top. This very monument actually shows up inside the temple on coins of Carrhae, Lindgren 2557, and the crescent moon and star symbol show up on lots of other coins of this city, Lindgren 2560-63.
