Topical Collections: Bears - Switzerland

Two main resources are used to attribute the specimens for Switzerland. The main resource I use for coins is the HMZ Katalog - Schweiz & Liechtenstein (HMZ references). I have the 1995 copy published by Jost-Druck AG, which is 304 pages and written in German. It is arranged alphabetically by canton, chronologically by century and denomination in descending order. For the commemoratives, I use the Standard Catalog of World Coins, published by Krause Publications in volumes by century (KM references). It is arranged alphabetically by country, denomination and date. I do not have a reference in my library at this time for the various tokens and medals in the collection.

Notes: Condensed lettering denomination type. The curious thing about this one is the date.  As often is the case with this series, this example was overstruck on another coin. The host coin is still peeking through in spots and one such area is a faint C between the 2 and 6 of the date, causing the 6 to look exactly like a 5. There were no 5 rappen pieces struck in Bern in 1925.
