Note: This coin imitates, and circulated contemporarily with, the Venetian grosso and fractions. This coin is 4mm smaller in diameter and half the weight of the silver dinar which circulated in the reign of King Uros II 20 years earlier. Also note - the iconography on the reverse of this specimen matches the description and drawing in Dimnik-Dobrinic, although the listed weight of their example is 1.14g. This series does also appear in a half-dinar, with a listed weight of 0.47g and a reverse type the same as this but holding regular vs. patriarchal cross.
